For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.
After a hard, exhausting day, all I wanted to do was post a status on Facebook or put up a tweet that would get me those sympathy likes and comments, you know those ones? “Having such a bad day”, “Why does this always happen”, “I can’t do this anymore”, “The one you are thinking of now…” We all have those days where that’s what we feel like and we just want to complain to the world so that we can be loved in return.
So in my quiet time today, God spoke to me through the verse above. What came to mind, were tears of joy. Though I may cry, they are tears of joy, not for what is happening, but for what is to come. For in the morning, we shall rejoice in joy. It doesn’t mean we are never down, we may weep at night, but it does mean there is always a morning after, always an upside to the downside in our lives, even though we may not see it now.
A word of encouragement for those having a bad day or who had a bad day yesterday, I truly hope when morning comes, you will rejoice and praise God for the sun rising, the start of a new day, the start of a better day, filled with favor. God loves you, God has forgiven you, God accepts you, God is pleased with you, God is with you…
