In one of my earlier posts, I mentioned knowing your triggers, knowing what tempts you and when you are most likely to be tempted, specifically tempted to view porn in my case. You can read my testimony here, of how Christ set me free, if you are new to this blog series.
So I was listening to a message I heard at my church by Dr Robi Sonderegger on transforming your thinking. In it, he speaks about his action plan called the XXXX plan to overcoming pornography. In the lead up to his plan, he mentioned triggers and mentioned an acronym invented by Dr Gordon Brune (Spelling could be incorrect, sorry!). I thought it would be helpful for you all to know when we are most likely to be attacked by the devil and tempted to sin, so here it is.
We are most tempted when we are:
B – Bored
L – Lonely
A – Agitated, or Angry
S – Stressed
T – Tired
I found this to be spot on for me, and have prayed and planned well in advance for each scenario or combination of the things above that I may experience in my future. So Maybe you too would like to take a moment, and take your action plan, which you may have created in the earlier post, and apply it to each scenario? Plan in advance your strategy, no one ever went to war without a plan of action. I guarantee it will help when a BLAST comes your way!
